I am glad that I made to the opening ceremony of the first ever “BHUTAN ARTS & CRAFTS EXHIBITION” which is organized by the Management of Bhutan Handicraft center at Choki premise below Folk Heritage Museum. The exhibition is taking place for 10 days starting from today until 25 March 2016. The main purpose of the exhibition is toward promoting our traditional Arts and Crafts by bringing together professional artists from different traits and provide platform to share their intimate experiences and skills.
I witnessed the live demonstrations by artists from different trait of Zorig Chusum (the thirteen traditional crafts in Bhutan) and learned about our rich cultural heritage in the form of traditional arts and crafts. Young girls weaving our national dress, master painters also known as Lha Rips painting every architectural piece from the massive Dzong to glories temples and spiritual monasteries and many more….
